War Crimes

Mariupol is a symbol of Russian war crimes. Murders, bombing of civilian neighbourhoods, hospitals, mass shelters, creation of a humanitarian catastrophe, torture, persecution, abduction of Ukrainian children and violation of all international conventions. This list can be enumerated for a long time.

They put the city under siege and destroyed it. From the very first days of the war, they turned Mariupol into a ghetto and its residents into hostages. They deliberately destroyed critical infrastructure, leaving people without water, electricity, heating and communications. They deliberately shelled hospitals, rescue bases and humanitarian warehouses so that civilians had no chance of survival.

They destroyed massive shelters where Mariupol families were hiding from rockets. They disrupted evacuation and did not allow trucks with food, water and medicine to cross from Ukraine. They created a filtration system where they detained people, interrogated them, tortured them and extorted money. They deported both adults and children who were separated from their relatives to different regions of Russia.

Currently, Russians are trying to destroy evidence of their war crimes in the occupied city. They are demolishing buildings and residential neighbourhoods that were shot up by them in the spring of 2022. They are erasing both the evidence and the Ukrainian city of Mariupol. Let's not let them do this - we are recording their crimes against Mariupol and the people of Mariupol.
